If you’re looking for a day out in the nature just outside Melbourne, I heartily recommend Organ Pipes National Park, not too far away from the airport.

The most famous feature of the park are the Organ Pipes, a set of basalt columns formed by the cooling and cracking of molten lava.

It’s really amazing how nature can form such perfect hexagons of lava!

We had a nice walk in the park and we met a kangaroo, a very big ant and a heron.

We had a picnic and we arrived at the tessellated pavement.

On our way back to the car we saw also this amazing kind of rose originated from lava.

How wonderful is nature?!

I’m really glad we found this park, sooooooo worth a walk!
